Cloverfield

I`ll have to say that is a bold movie to make. Even when they are not pioneers in the way of shooting (“The Blairwitch Project”) got all my sympathy for trying new formats and a different way to tell the story.

Cloverfield is about the farewell party of one beloved friend that will go to Japan for a new job, and in the middle of the party and all the gossips and, the soap opera love story on the works…boom! something happen and everyone will start to run scared until the final credits.

It seem to me that JJ Abrahams probably lived here in Panama during the invation a couple of years ago, because the feeling is exactly the same.  Blackouts, everyone looking at the news for a life saving story, a bunch of people breaking into business, the phone calls, the whole ten yards.. we all lived that on Dec. 20 1989.

Special effects are great. What I remember the most is when Godsukki hits the Empire States and all the New Yorkers are running under a 9/11 cloud of debris. Some americans feel offended by that scene. 

Anyways. This is Godzilla on crack. But there is not a regular movie, so please don`t expect detailed explanation of what the f*** is going on, if you feel dizzy and confused, that’s o.k.
